The prototype railroads didn't think so either as they had more coaches than any other type of passenger car. If you want one, you'll have to wait for one of those model ers to decide to sell.
No high shipping and extra handling charges here. That made them ideal for commuter trains and for frequent trains between cities.
When kits for these care were still being manufactured, they were a favorite with model ers because they were relatively inexpensive, easily and quickly assembled, and built up into nicely detailed model's that stood up well on close inspection.
The condition of the car is good. I've had a few jokers tell me their items never arrived when, in fact, they did. Photos, i've found, often hide as much as they show, so I describe fully.
What that means is there is a finite number of Walthers cars out there with the total number growing smaller with each passing year. These are quickly and easily replaced with scale size dummy couplets or jade scale operating couplets, if you wish.
Also there are no trucks but there are oversize non operating knuckle couplets on one car. Your best bet is to buy it when you see it.
The paint on the sides is poor and will need to be stripped before repainting, I think.
But they had a place on longer run name trains too. Has been for 20 years and no one else has come forward since to try to reissue these cars, nor is anyone likely to try.
Mixed trains on branch lines usually had at least one coach. Sad commentary on some folks, isn't that also has extended its fees so that it now imposes its fee not only on the final sale price of an item, which it certainly is entitled to and is fair, but also on the cost of the shipping, which it isn't entitled to and isn't fair.
Are you running an all coach commuter train on your layout kits for Walthers o scale passenger cars are no longer made. You pay what it costs and that's it. The sides are stamped tin and have been attached to the wood roof and floor with small brads or nails placed within the rows of neat rivets along the top and bottom edges of the sides.
I haven't had one claim of nondelivery since.
I don't see the need. I reuse clean boxes, envelopes and packing materials to save you money. Free delivery in the glen side pa, area. Haven't been for 30 or more years.
It is a generic enough looking coach that it could have been used on almost any railroad, north or south, east or west, and in Mexico and Canada, and might look at home on your layout as well.
The floor is not painted.
And for good reason coaches carried a lot of fares efficiently. And if and when you do, you can be pretty sure it will cost more than it does now.
I don't hide or hold back on mentioning any of an item's flaws.
If you too think this is unfair, tell. If so, it's one of the longest running cars in Walthers' line going all the way back to the 1930s and 1940s, where a look alike car was offered in those catalogs. Here is an o scale heavyweight 75 foot passenger car coach.
The sides and ends have been painted tuscan red, the roof is black. Com, which acquired many of Walthers' molds and dies for such details and is manufacturing them again. All nation subsequently acquired Walthers' passenger car line and offered the cars for a short while, but now even all nation is out of business.
For a particular model, that could be a while. The ends are die cast metal and also feature lots of rivet detail. The shipping I charge is what the shipping actually costs the least expensive way I can find.
I don't want to see them back. All the Walthers cars and kits now are in the hands of other model ers. There are no steps under the doors at the ends of the sides, nor are there any roof or underbid details, only a wood beam.
If you wait, who knows when you'll see it for sale again. I inspect every item I sell to make sure all its parts are there, in good condition and working.
